Terms of Use
Voice Over Recorder ("the app") is made by Jens de Ruiter, an individual developer in the Netherlands. By using the app you agree to these terms.
The license
The app is free. If you got it from the Mac App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, and these terms add to it. Where the two disagree, Apple's agreement wins.
Your recordings
Everything you record and export is yours. I claim no rights to it and never see it, because it stays on your Mac. You are responsible for what you record, including having permission from anyone else whose voice you record, and for keeping backups of your work.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is". I do my best to make it work well, and every take is also kept untouched in a "raw takes" folder as a safety net, but I can't promise the app will be free of errors or suit every purpose.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for lost recordings or data, arising from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by agreement.
Open source
The app encodes MP3 files with LAME, which is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2. The LAME source is available from the LAME project, and I will send you the exact source used in the app on request. The website uses the Bricolage Grotesque typeface under the SIL Open Font License.
Changes
I may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date.
Law
These terms are governed by Dutch law.
